About
The Delaware State Housing Authority provides a variety of housing opportunities and supportive services to state residents who are economically disadvantaged. The authority, founded in 1968 as a public corporation in the state department of housing, is now an independent authority in the executive department. It assists for-profit and nonprofit housing sponsors with loans and grants. The authority also applies for and receives subsidies from the federal government and other sources and issues its bonds and notes. In addition, it also serves as a public housing authority and a community development and planning agency.
