About Our Company Hollis & Spann has a solid history of performance that stands behind the knowledge, experience and skills of its Owners, Managers, and Staff. Founded in 1950 as Residential and Commercial Contractors by Robert H. Hollis, Jr. of Montgomery, Alabama and Jerome A. Spann of Dothan, Alabama, the company operated as a partnership on South Alice Street in Dothan until the death of Spann in 1965. Hollis then purchased the Spann interest and operated as Robert H. Hollis, Jr. dba Hollis & Spann, until the company incorporated under the laws of the State of Alabama in 1968. Hollis retained the Spann name in honor of the co-founder.
