Ghost Roots is a women-first visual website dedicated to one thing: contrasting color placed intentionally at or near the roots. Every photograph in the library is examined closely - shade, section width, placement, boundary, haircut, and texture; not to collect pretty images, but to help readers understand what they are actually looking at and how to use it. Founded in Los Angeles by Bella Hedson, Ghost Roots was built around a simple frustration, inspiration was everywhere, but useful information was scattered. The website brings both together, helping readers move from liking a photograph to asking the right questions about placement, visibility, grow-out, and what a colorist actually needs to know.
